DCM challenge - pins & needles

I bought the latest download from Funky Hand today. What delicious papers they are! You can find them here. I used them when making this weeks DCM challenge "pins & needles" - design a card using pins or needles of some sort.

I made a brown square card blank & covered with one of the papers from paper blossom at Funky Hand. I then cut a strip of stripy paper (again paper blossom) and adhered it 2 thirds of the way down the card. I stamped Lola (Sugar Nellie) onto white card and coloured her with watercolour pencils, then partially cut her out and mounted her on more paper (paper blossom again) and then onto brown card. I doodled stitches around Lola. Next I cut out one of the patterned flowers and a "Happy Birthday" sentiment and mounted lower right. I edged the flower with glitter glue and attached some DCWV ribbon with a safety pin to the lower right of the card. Lastly a velvet Prima flower and jewel brad in the top right corner.

Funky Fairy Challenge 14 - set by me!

I thought long and hard about this one and decided on.........

LONG TALL SALLY

Make something tall and skinny (like I want to look). It can be anything you like as long as it is long and slim.

I made a card and matching bookmark

I used pinkie pops papers, Hampton Arts stamp, a cheapo 99p "my friend" stamp, prima flowers, tiny gems, doodling, doodlebug paper frills, a Lakeland bloom, glitter glue.ribbon and a brad.

The great thing about this challenge is that there will be some blog candy!! Everyone who enters will get their name put in a hat and my daughter will pick a name out next Sunday (6th) so the deadline to enter is 6pm. Here is a sneak peak at the candy :o)

Some stamped images, 2 sheets of DCWV pocket full of posies 12x12 papers, 2 sheets of Daisy Bucket (I think) papers (double sided), 4 blooms and a pack of card charms. You've gotta be in it to win it so they say so pop over to www.funkyfairychallenge.blogspot.com/ and add a comment with a link to your entry.

Great day

I've nothing crafty to post at all! But thought I'd write a bit about what we did today. The girls and I went to the theatre this morning (oh yes!) to see The frog Prince. It was absolutely fabulous! It was a one man show - he played a story teller and he had loads of puppets.

This is a photo o
f the set. It was in the studio which is a mini theatre within the theatre. We love the studio cos it's quite small and intimate and cos they show kids stuff in there it can be quite interactive. We all had such fun! I was dead proud of Maddie because she is only 2 but she was so well behaved. She only got fidgety in the last 10 minutes or so which I think is brilliant as the whole thing lasted 1 hour.

After theatre we had lunch at Marks & Spencer where I had probably the best toastie I have ever tasted (emmental and mushroom). It was delicious!! Then on to Borders book shop for 2pm where they hold a kids club every Saturday. We love it because they do crafty, sticky, glittery messy things there and it is free!! Every week it has a different theme - this week it was High School Musical. They got to make a badge and Abbi entered a quiz competition (about HSM) and won a prize for getting 13 out of 14 correct. She won a sticker book and stickers (HSM of course!) so she was really chuffed. Met up with Mum and Dad afterwards which was lovely. Must share this pic of my Mum that I took a few weeks ago when I got my fab new phone.

It creases me up every time I look at it!!!!! My phone has templates on it and the bunny is my fave. She had no idea what I was doing when I took this! Her and Dad do sometimes pop on this blog for a peek so - SORRY MUM!!!!!! LOL!

Last pic now! This is the latest addition to our family - Lucy! She is Abbi's hamster and we've had her 2 weeks now. Have been meaning to blog about her. She is turning out to be almost untamable unfortunately. She is incredibly timid and if you try and hold her she wees on you and squeaks! She is very cute though :o)

Budding crafter

My daughter Abbi (aged 6) loves to get involved with anything crafty I am doing. This afternoon I was making something for a friend and she said she loved it so much she wanted to make a card just like it. This is what she made :o)

Isn't she great? Bless her! I can't post mine up yet cos it's similar to something I've been making for next week's Funky Fairy challenge :o)

Check out Abbi's doodling!!

My time to craft challenge

This week the challenge is sparkle - use shiny card, gems or glitter.

I needed to make a 3rd birthday card as my girls are going to a birthday party tomorrow so I made this my challenge card.

I used a white deckle edged A6 card, free papers from a past issue of Papercraft Essentials, black card, fairy stamp from Dimension fourth Ltd, chipboard number 3 from Craftwork Cards triple embossed with pink ultra thick embossing powder by Blonde Moments, watercolour pencils, buttons, Woodware sentiment stamps and pink glitter (on the fairy wings).

New blog header

I spent the afternoon tinkering with oodles of crafty goodness making stuff for next week's challenge over on Funky Fairy's Challenge blog. It's me setting the challenge next week you see! I hope plenty of people will join in 'cos there will be the chance to win some yummy blog candy :o)

This week's challenge is "Bling" up your cards
http://funkyfairychallenge.blogspot.com/2008/03/challenge-13-definitely-lucky-number.html
Please wander over and have a go :o)

Anyhow, whilst tinkering, I made a sparkly header for my blog using yummy Pinkie Pops papers from Funky Fairy's Papercraft's. I think it's kinda cool :o)

Thanks for visiting me xxx

Cute rabbit

I love this Sugar Nellie stamp. For this card I used a lemon pearlescent card blank, glitter matt stack paper by DCWV, watercolour pencils, glitter glue, hot pink card, doodling and a sentiment flower by Craftwork Cards.

ATC!

I made an ATC tonight for the first time in ages!! I used freebie downloadable paper from Funky Fairy Inspirations blog, a bamboo type stamp that I have no idea where it came from, shabby shutters distress ink, a smile stamp, a Sue Dreamer sticker, ribbon, doodling and a cute mouse button.

My time to craft challenge

This week the challenge is quotes & sayings. I used paper by fancy pants designs, a die cut saying, doodling and a Sugar Nellie stamp.

Monkeh/scrummystash cafe challenge

What can I say other than I love my monkeh! I have had fun playing with him tonight. The challenge at Scrummystash cafe is to add decorative borders/edges to your project. I've used Pirate Monkey - from Sugar Nellie, Flower & stem die cut by Craftwork Cards, watercolour pencils and inking/doodling a border around the flower die cut and the card itself. For the card below I also used stamps by paperartsy. Ooh and glitter glue on both.

Funky Fairy's challenge - bling!

It's Han's turn to set the dare this week and she wants us to bling up our cards.

I played with my new monkeh!! He is from the new little cotton rabbits range at Sugar Nellie. He is soooo cute (although today he is a girl as he's in pink & purple!). I coloured him with watercolour pencils. The card is a lilac square blank. I've used a freebie download paper for the backing (available here http://funkyfairyinspirations.blogspot.com/) and made a frame using lilac lush paper available from Funky Fairy's papercrafts. The bling came in several forms - glitter glue on monkeh's jumper, shiny bead wire wrapped round the frame and jewels in each corner of the card and the centre of the prima flower. Monkeh is suspended upside down - the cheeky devil!
:-)

DCM challenge - it's all in the game

Tiddlywinks, playing cards, dominos, jig saw pieces…….the list goes on and I’m sure that most of us have a drawer somewhere that has the odd one or two of these lying around in.
Well now’s your chance to use them because I dare you to make a card using some of those pieces.
Oh and no, you don’t need to throw a double six to start playing.

Have had a go at this challenge today.

I used a black square card blank, childs jigsaw pieces painted purple, Tim Holtz stamp, black stazon, Paperartsy stamp for the background on lilac bazzill bling, black bloom and lilac brad.

Easter gift bags finished

All done now. And they fit in with the mid week challenge from the daring cardmakers too. I have used Pinkie pops pp by Funky Fairys and images by Pink Petticoat. Unfortunately I'm tired tonight so the cards & bookmarks I made to go with the bags are a bit slap dash. The bags are filled with yummy chocolate goodies from Hotel Chocolat! I kinda want to keep them!

Funky Fairy's Challenge 12

This weeks challenge is set by lovely Lydia and it is to "cut up your cards" - anyway you want to as long as it has been cut.

This is my effort!

I cut an aperture into my card and placed an image (Pink Petticoat) behind the aperture using 3d foam. The image was coloured with watercolour pencils. I used colourful daze paper available at Funk Fairy's papercrafts. I doodled a frame to go round the aperture, then added a huge bloom to the card.

Girly card/My Time To Craft Challenge

This was my last make of the day and it fits in nicely with the My Time To Craft Challenge which is "Tickled Pink". Hot pink card blank embossed with the cuttlebug friends folder. I also ran over the raised bit with a white ink pad. I stamped Lola image onto white card and watercoloured her in. I 3d foam mounted her on to the card, then made a flower with pink ribbon and attached with a pearl brad. Finally I edged the entire card in black. I do so like making girly cards :-)

Easter gift bags

Have made a couple of gift bags this afternoon using pinkie pops download from Funky Fairy's papercrafts. Am sooooo loving pinkie pops!! I made 2 bags, one for Abbi's teacher and one for out childminder. Am filling them with Hotel Chocolat mini eggs and choc shapes and may yet put a little corner bookmark in too (if I get chance to make any!). The cute images are by Pink Petticoat. I have watercoloured them and glitter glued the fleece. I like these and so do my girls :-)

Sunday Stamper challenge

Hurrah! A Sunday Stamper challenge that I can manage! (Haven't had appropriate stamps for the last few :-(

I made a tag for this challenge which is "I'm a laydeeee" (or rather include a lady image on your creation).

I used mountboard cut into a tag shape which I coloured with shabby shutters distress ink. I then stamped a pattern all over the tag using the same ink colour. Next I stamped my beautiful laydee with black stazon. I added a beautiful rub on (Basic Grey), stamped the laydee again in shabby shutters near the top of the tag, than stamped the back of the tag with the pattern stamp using black stazon. Edged the whole thing with black ink, added an eyelet and fibres and it's finished!

DCM challenge

I managed to do the DCM challenge today which is
"
Well I thought we have had plenty of flowers and hearts and girly things so I would like some cards with some teen spirit please."
So I made a square card with some hot pink cardstock, placed a strip of DCWV rockstar paper down the left side, doodled a checked strip, drew round a large grungeboard skull onto some DCWV rockstar paper and doodled round the edged of it, die cut letters to make up the words "teen rebel", added pearl brad eyes and finally added a few ribbons.

Only problem is.....who the devil do I give a card like this to?? Anyhow I do kinda like the way it turned out :-)

Hubby's birthday card

It's my hubby's birthday tomorrow so being a last minute kind of gal I made him his card today! I used a beige card blank with brown pawprints on it. A cute doggy Penny Black stamp stamped onto beige card and watercoloured, then matted onto brown cardstock. A stamped Happy Birthday matted and layered, then finished off with a couple of prima flowers.

Funky Fairy challenge 11

This weeks challenge is as follows
In with the OLD
Out with the new
Create an Item
That's just for YOU
Go through your stash
That you've had packed away
And fetch out those Goodies
To have a little play! :)

I decided to alter the handbag shaped chipboard book I've had sitting in a drawer for months on end! I used pinky pops and perfect pinks papers from Funky Fairy's Papercrafts. Also, loads of photos, silver paint, glitter glue, ribbon, eyelets, charms, grungeboard, flowers, brads, buttons, vellum stickers and making memories sweets. It took me a long time to make, but I am pleased with it and I will treasure it as it is a memory book of my big girl's 6th birthday party.

Funky Fairy's challenge 10

Howdi partners X
This week id like to see how creative you can be with eyelets and ribbon!!!
FORGET `less is more` i want you to GO MAD `the more the merrier`
PROPER PIMP THAT CARD!!!

This was a fun card to make! I used Funky Fairy's birthday kit papers, a funky fairy stamped image (thanks Shaz) watercoloured with marvy le plume pens, pink cardstock, doodling, eyelets and ribbon!!!!, a big pink bloom (thanks Shaz!), an eyelet and I also tried (not very well) to copy the writing on the paper to write "HAVE A FUNKY BIRTHDAY" in a thought bubble. xxx

DCM Challenge "I am woman"

Theme this week is
I am woman

As its coming up to Mothers day in the UK here’s a chance to make a card that celebrates women and girls . So I’d like to see a card with at least one feminine image on it . And that's it for rules really.
Apart from this one.
And it is sneaky.

No Tildas, Sugar Nellies or Bellas please
. I love them all. But there are loads of great challenges out there using them so for this challenge you can give them a well earned rest!

I made this card with Funky Fairy's Papercrafts pinkie pops papers, paperartsy stamps, a Lakeland bloom and a black button. x
