So this week I'd like you to think small - not small cards, but small spaces of embellishment on regular sized cards.
You are allowed to cover no more than a 5x5cms area of your card with paper or embellishment - the rest of the card must be left plain
So oo-er I thought! I'm not sure if I will be able to do this. I tend to make "busy" cards on the whole. Anyhow I took on the challenge and am quite pleased with what I made :o)
My first card involved slight "cheatage" (love that word!!) cos I also stamped a flourish stamp on the card and doodled dots on it (I couldn't help it!), but the actual embellishment is miniscule (4.5x4cm). Being a fiddler I decided to make a teeny weenie book with my bind it all. I cut 4x4cm squares of white card and covered them with various papers from the paper blossom range at Funky Hand
I edged each square with black ink and then punched the holes. I used flowers and a sentiment from the same range at Funk Hand and also used alphabet stickers to spell out a word on each page of the book. Also added a teeny bit of sparkle in the form of glitter glue just to the front of the book and card.
For my other card I used a 4.5cm square piece of mountboard on which I made a patchwork design (again using paper blossom). I stitched the teeny squares of paper with faux stitching (I have done a very similar design to this before but it was much larger!!) and then stuck it to the card. A tiny happy birthday sentiment finishes the card.
