Freddie's Friends
Nikki over at my local craft shop Fat Freddie's Craft Shed has been very busy designing some fabby new decoupage papers and she asked me if I would mind knocking out some samples for her. Now I have to admit that decoupage isn't really my bag....but these are really fab to work with :o)
The range is called Freddie's Friends and consists of 8 decoupage sheets and matching backing papers and you can buy them here. There will also be a Christmas range coming soon! I've made four cards so far....

New challenge blog for children
For a while now, Shaz (the funky fairy) has been mulling over having a challenge blog for children. This is now almost ready to go (hopefully tomorrow for the first challenge!). It is called Tiny Funky Fairies and Elves and will run every fortnight. Because of this, the Funky Fairy Challenge is changing to once a fortnight too so we will alternate the two. As with the normal challenge blog, there will be a winner of the childrens challenge too which will be chosen randomly and the prize will be either a stamp or download. The blog isn't about making the best card - it's about having fun making something you like. All of us fairies have children so we have a mini design team raring to go hehehehe.

DCM challenge - Christmas in June
This is my last challenge as guest designer and I just want to officially thank the DCM girls for thier hospitality - I've loved every minute of it :o)
This week the fabululous Jo set the dare....
I would love this week for you all to make a Christmas card... (yes I know it is only June tee hee) With a nice Christmassy scene just to get us all in the festive spirit and to pave the way for all the cards that we have yet to make....
It's not often I make a card that I really really like - but this one I do really really like hehehe.

Funky Fairies Competition
Exciting news from the Funky Fairy camp folks! Shaz and Lou have been very busy creating new stamp designs which will very soon be released! There will be a preview stamp each week on the inspiration blog and peeps will be asked to create a card on a certain theme. Each week a winner will get the preview stamp of that week. Exciting huh? So go have a looksie now hehe
This is a preview of one of the news stamps from a range called "moo-ville"
Cool eh? And a huge perk of being on the design team is that I will be getting to play with the new stamps very soon :o) Which reminds me - Shaz is looking for a new DT member as Lou has been promoted to designer sooooooo take a look at her call out on the inspiration blog - she's looking for doodlers too :o)

Oh I love this girl
Nothing crafty to share today, but I wanted to post a photo I took of my baby just the other day. I can hardly believe it but this little beauty will be 3 years old on the 10th July!!! Where does the time go? She told me I am her best friend today and my heart went all squishy :o)
It only seems like yesterday that she was like this.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Friendship
I don't seem to do many challenges of late and as my talented Funky hand DT mate Kath has made the DT on the new Penny Black Saturday challenge blog I thought I would have a bash at that one :o)
The challenge is friendship - make something you would give to a friend.
It just so happens that it is my friend Kirsty's birthday tomorrow so I've made her card using one of my new Penny Black clear stamps (ooh I do love them!).
I had a go at a gatefold card. I don't think I've made one before. It was fun. The card is made from my minds eye papers (29th street market).

Funky Fairy challenge 26 - paper piecing
It was my turn to set the challenge this week and I chose paper piecing :o) Been short of time over the weekend so I chose to make an ATC. I used doodlementals papers which are free to download on the inspirations site. I also used my cute ickle funky fairy stamp. As ever, each person that takes part in the challenge has a chance to win a free download from the Funky Fairy shop :o)

Swiss dots and Penny Black
I've spent a few enjoyable hours playing with my new swiss dots embossing folder and Penny Black stamps. I made 3 cards. Fridays are a good crafty opportunity for me as Maddie goes to playgroup for a couple of hours in the afternoon so I get some peace and quiet :o)
This one would have been my favourite, had I stamped the images on white card!!! I actually thought I had stamped on white card until I got my card blank out and realised it was actually off-white! Ah well......we live and learn :o)
None of your fancy nestabilities for Jozza (too expensive for me!) just make it yourself by drawing round the inside of the DST roll hehe.

DCM challenge - just a quick one!
Ok, the dare this week was set by bondgirl....
I want you to make a QUICK CARD! a card that takes you no more than hmm say 30 minutes max to do - start to finish. No set ingredients and pick your own theme, but be quick and be crafty! (and dont forget to tell us how long it took too).
My card took just under 15 minutes to make. I used stunning baby paper from Fat Freddie's Craft Shed (Freddie's own design), blue bazzill bling, Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder, 3 brads, velvet ribbon and a little one sticker from stash, and a baby feet stamp. Also used glitter glue (for a change! lol).

Funky fairy challenge 25 - Glorious food
The challenge this week was set by the lovely Hannah.
The challenge this week is to use something edible on your project this can be a stamp, sticker, paper with images of food/ drinks etc... The reason being is all I seemed to do on holiday was eat and drink so I thought this was quite fitting.
For my card I used funky birthday kit papers and toppers. Hope you like :o)
As ever there will be a challenge winner who can pick a download of their choice from the funky fairy shop!

New DCM dare - wheely interesting
Still can't believe I'm guest designer this month hehe it's fab!! :o)
Anyhow the dare this week is set by the fabby Kathy
I'd like you to feature wheels ON your cards, or as part of them. So you could have cars, bikes etc on your card, or maybe you could actually make a card that moves along on some wheels..... or how about a card that has one of those "wheels" inside it (fixed with a brad) and little apertures in the actual card front so that when you move the wheel the message appears in the aperture? (I hope that makes sense)
This was a fun card I made which is actually a belated birthday card for my Godson who has just turned 2 (great Godmother I am eh?? lol). I created a farmyard scene using print outs from a Nitwit collections download. Then I stamped Happy Birthday onto a hand drawn sign and let the cockerel hold it and doodled a border :o)

So, on to this week and for my dare I'd like you to make cards with
wheels
wheels
....no, not actually made with wheels, you can still use card and paper ;-), so you don't need to go and steal the ones from the car or the kids' bikes and write a message on them!

I'm back!
I'm back from our weekend away. The wedding was great we all had a lovely time. My daughters were party animals at the evening do. Abigail danced (a lot of the time the only one on the dance floor) for just over 2 hours. Maddie really enjoyed the dancing too. I'm tired I'm afraid so I've not had chance to sort out the blog candy - that will come tomorrow. I just thought I would share a few of my favourite photos from the wedding (I took loads and not looked at them properly but these stood out).
I love this one. The kids were running in the grounds of the hotel while the photos were being taken. As you can see Abigail took her bag :o) I fiddled with this with the on line mini version of photoshop - how I wish I had the real thing though!
This is my gorgeous girls with their gorgeous cousins Tom and James. I love it as it's not fake posey smiles. I love to catch a natural moment :o)
The bride and groom Andy and Amy looking gorgeous! Andy is my husband's cousin.
Maddie just suddenly lay like this on the dance floor bless her! She stayed there for quite a while whilst Abigail danced around her :o)

How exciting!
Several weeks ago I got an email from the one and only Jo Kill! Now it is no secret that I am a huge fan of Jo's so imagine my excitement when she asked me to be the guest designer on the Daring Cardmakers blog for the month of June!!! I was sooooo excited hehe. Then of course I began to wonder if someone was playing a cruel hoax on me! But NO!!! It is true and I am guest designer this month. It is an honour to be asked as all the members of the DT are hugely talented. It took me about a hundredth of a second to say yes lol!!!
So...this week the challenge is "Quoted by"
Jane this week has dared us all to include a quote on our card. Stamped, Computer Generated or Rub Ons it doesn't matter and choose your own style or occassion.
Here is my card
I used Basic Grey Perhaps papers, assorted cardstock was used for the birds and the branch/leaves. I had to hand draw the birds and banch due to the fact that Freddie, the owner of my local craft shop Fat Freddies Craft Shed point blank refuses to RAK me a cricut (how VERY dare she! lol). The rub on quote came from a set out of a bargain bin at Freddie's shop and also used velvet rik rak, a button and oodles of doodles xxx

Funky Fairy challenge 23 - buttons and beads
This week it was Meayla's turn to set the challenge and what a fab challenge it is too!
I decided to come and post this weeks challenge and it seems like ages since I set one! This is the challenge that I`ve been saving for around 5 weeks now since I was last set the challenge and since then, these things seem to be rather 'in vogue' so . . . following on from my cute as a button scrap page earlier this week, the challenge is...BUTTONS AND BEADS - JUST MAKE SOMETHING, ANYTHING (!!) WHICH FEATURES BUTTONS AND BEADS AND LETS SEE HOW CREATIVE WE CAN ALL BE . . . . but why stick at one thing? !
I used fabby Doodlementals papers from the free downloadable add on pack available here. I used a 99p stamp from The Range and added beads for the wheels and a button embellishment on some pink ribbon. Why not pop over to the challenge blog and have a look what the other members of the DT have made. Don't forget that each week, one person will win a download of their choice from the Funky Fairy shop so what have ya got to lose??
