Arty Girlz blue & orange

I hope I'm not too late for this....I've been meaning to do it for days! The challenge is to create something in blue and orange and I was totally inspired by this photograph of our hamster Ratatouille as his cage is white and orange (and he is very cute!). I don't seem to do many layouts and I think this is my favourite yet...

I've just found out that I made the fab 5 over on the 2 Sketches 4 you challenge blog for my card this week. Hoorah!! It's a double whammy too because my mate Enfys also made the fab 5 :o) If you haven't seen En's blog do go and check it out because she is very very very talented!

A new obsession

There has been a Cath Kidston shop in York for quite some time now and I purposely haven't been in....just looked longingly in the window from time to time....

Hmm.....well I went in last Monday with my friend Kirsty (I kinda knew it was a shop I would want to go in without the children!) and oh my! Now I know it's not everyones taste and I wouldn't want absolutely everything in the shop - but I want MOST things in it (not so keen on the clothes mind). Wowsers it is lush. So inspired was my friend that she has started a group on facebook called "I want to live in a Cath Kidston house" hehehe. It has 3 members of which I am 1!

Here is one of my little purchases with my pins in it(I went back in today hehe).

DCM forever autumn

It's Friday again which can only mean one thing! It's dare time again! This week the dare is set by Sue :o)

Forever Autumn.

I decided on this one after hearing the Justin Haywood song of the same name playing on the radio. I couldn’t get it out of my mind and kept singing it as I was working.

So now I’m daring you to make a card that depicts Autumn.
It can be an Autumn scene or it can be something completely different but using a palette of Autumn colours……the choice is yours!

I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if a few of you are singing along by the time you’ve finished either, I know some of the DT were!

I kept it simple this week and I have to say I loved working with these colours! Lush :o)

Card - orange Bazzill
Paper - not sure - I've had it for years!
Stamp - Papertartsy
Green flower - Poppycrafts
Orange felt flower - fell off a pair of Maddie's tights and rather than reattach it I snaffled it for crafting purposes (ssh) hehehe

Funky Fairys Challenge 38

This week the challenge is to make something for Christmas other than a card.....

I had quite a few ideas for this challenge but unfortunately with feeling so rough these last few days I've only managed to make some Christmas decorations. I'm chuffed with how they've turned out though and they're very easy so I think I'll be making more :o)

I used papers and bird from the fantastic new download Let's get traditional. I can't rave enough about this kit it really is fantastic, it's only £4.99 and is chock full of goodness! Buy it - you won't regret it!

Ow ow ow and a dessert!

Moany moany moan! I have an ear infection in both ears. Have been in pain for 4 days now and am at the point where I want to slam my head in the door. Seriously I am at the end of my tether. Got some meds today so am hoping tomorrow it has eased off a little.

I battled through the pain to create a fabilicious dessert for my lovely family this evening. Bread and butter pudding! I've never made it before - heck I've never eaten it before but I made it and it was delish. My hubby and both my girls cleared their bowls :o)

As I've said before I hate cooking but I enjoy baking and making desserts! I'll make this again for def...

An award!

I've just had a fab award from the lovely Amanda aka Scotspanda which is a huge surprise not least cos I've been a very bad blogger of late! Thanks very much Amanda :o)

The rules of the award are:
1. The winner can put the logo on their blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of those you’ve nominated

I'm going to cop out now...I've seen this award on so many blogs already and as I visit around 100 blogs regularly and love them all how do I narrow it down to 7? So if you happen upon this - consider yourself awarded :o)

We don't mind, as long as you use paint on your cards. So have some fun with the DCM and get Painty this week.

This challenge was set by Rhi. I had a dabble in crafting yesterday and came up with this which I'm not happy with at all. I think my mojo has gone on holiday. It's far too busy a card but my hand was hurting and I didn't feel up to starting again...

Sun!

After a few gloomy days the sun decided to shine today :o)

I took little miss Maddikins to the local park for some welcome fresh air this morning. We well and truly blew the cobwebs off and had lots of fun. I even remembered to take the camera so I thought I would share a couple of pics of Mads enjoying herself. Oh to be 3 again! She's such a lovely child to be around - very easy to please and oh so loving. I am blessed.

Hand update......had the stitches out on Tuesday and it is bliss to finally have the bandage off :o) Still rather painful there are lots of things that I struggle with and crafting causes pain (sulk) but the wound is healing really well so yay!

An award

I've been given an award by my mate Ruth. I've been awarded this because "I make her laugh and snort her cup of tea in an unladylike manner". Who? Me? hehehe glad I make you laugh Ruth and thanks for the award!

Now then, the rules are

1.The winner can put the logo on their blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 5 other blogs.
4. Before listing the nominees give a brief reason why you chose them.
5. Put links of those blogs to yours.
6. Leave a message on the blogs you've nominated.

Soooo.......I do a lot and I do mean A LOT of blog hopping (probably why my botty is the size of a small planet) and I've seen this award all over the place so basically if you haven't got this award then consider it yours because blogland is full of the most amazingly talented people :o)

xxxx

PS. I've not been commenting on peoples blogs for a little while as my hand is still sore and still has a HUGE dressing on it. Hope nobody is offended. I'll hopefully be back to full capacity soon :o)

DCM - what a load of scallops!

"I'm just loving all the new scallop punches that are out at the moment, circles, ovals, squares, edges etc, etc and then there's the corner rounder and slit punches that can be used to scallop edges as well.

Use your imagination, your scallop punches, your corner rounders, your cricuts and cuttlebugs to create any card to fit any style as long as it shows scallops".

Well I managed to make a card with my gammy hand! lol

Blimey!

Pesky kids eh? My two have just had a falling out of epic proportions resulting in both of them shouting how much they hate each other and ending with my 3 year old proclaiming at the top of her voice that her sister is "a little brat" (actually it was bwat - bless her she has a tendency to speak like Jonathon Ross). Sigh.....why can't we be like the Waltons? If it's like this now at 3 and 7 what will they be like when they hit their teens??? Yikes I'd better invest in earplugs....

I've had a fairly quiet day (until Abigail came home from school that is!), just me and Maddie at home. It's my Gran's 87th birthday on Sunday so Maddie made her a card (which I've forgotten to photograph) and as the stash was out I had a little play. I couldn't help myself.......my Funky Hand friends are so going to shout at me!!!

I started a papermania scalloped chipboard al
bum that Emma kindly sent me to try. I feel awful that I haven't managed to do it yet so I made a start this afternoon. It's been great fun I have to say and once I get some photographs organised it's going to be so fab. I've taken some pics but obviously it's a work in progress and it'll have ribbons on the rings when it's finished.

Last thing....check out what came in the post from my fab friend Ruth! What an awesome get well card - she's so clever. I reckon me and that dinosaur were seperated at birth! The likeness is uncanny right down to the sheepish look on it's face :o)

Thanks so much Ruth - you're ace! xxx

Sore Joz!

It may be a little quiet on my blog for a few days. Here is a pic of my poorly hand...

I'll be back crafting as soon as I can do it comfortably. Just had a go at a little project and it hurt!
